Southbank’s secret forest

Underbelly Festival

For the summer of 2017 the Southbank’s Udderbelly joined hands with the London Wonderground festival to bring a new platform of cabaret and comedy, along with plenty of choice for food and drink, to provide everything necessary for a convivial night out.

Despite high piece points at almost every stall, tourists and locals alike enjoy the dynamic atmosphere of live dance and theatre, unique to the Uderbelly festival. A well known attraction of the festival is Briefs, an Australian cabaret group. I spoke to Ben Target, a staff member of Underbelly’s bar, he described Briefs as “a well- respected group of performers and the main attraction for customers”. He also explained how it “brings in a lot of business for the independent street food stalls and bars”.

Just a stones throw away from Waterloo, Underbelly has one of London’s largest outdoor bars. Not only is the entrance FREE but you can also become a member, meaning no long queues and discount on drinks.

The festival hosts a summer fun atmosphere all year round. Whether you are a young professional, family or teen looking for something unusual the Underbelly is catered for all ages. Be sure to head down before Underbelly’s curtains close on September 30 2017.
