Data Journalism

The collection of data opens up new possibilities for stories. Who owns the data is a massive political issue. All companies that hold data of EU citizens should be held in Europe and can fall under European law for data protection. Access to the data held by the government is also an issue.

What can you do with the data?

  • Create personalised calculators to help people make decisions. Buying a car, tax changes etc
  • building articles on facts and insights supported by data
  • Using data to improve reports
  • Analyse the dynamics of complex situations
