Today (20/22/18), findings in a BBC Analysis have shown that for the first time ever hospitals all across the country have failed to hit targets for the years 2017/2018.

The analysis goes on to describe that 29 out of 157 Hospitals had not hit a single target for the whole year.

Guy’s and St. Thomas’ were 1 out of 16 hospitals who failed to meet key waiting time requirements in both A&E departments and routine operations as well as cancer treatments. As seen below in the Hospital’s annual report the national waiting time target for A&E is less than 4 hours for 95% of their A&E patients.

In the Hospital’s annual report 17/18 it has said, “This included record levels of attendance at A&E and an extremely difficult winter across the NHS, as well as terror attacks and the tragedy of Grenfell”.
