REVIEW: ‘Made of Dough’ the overhyped Pizza in Peckham

Modern, artistic and rustic is the vibe you get when you walk into ‘Made of Dough’, at 12:30pm its slightly quiet for Friday lunch but its does seem to catch up around 13:00pm.

I opted for the ‘garlic, rosemary and fior di latte mozzarella with basil aioli’ as one of the starters and OMG!! Hot out of the oven oozing with melted mozzarella and then dipped in this cold aioli basil dip sends your taste buds to heaven. I’m telling you this garlic bread is the best I have ever had and that’s saying a lot.   

 After the garlic bread I was determined the pizza was going to be what the vast majority have raved about- let me just say it wasn’t. It was the most horrific pizza I have ever eaten. I chose the vegetarian special, which consisted of aubergine, basil, tomato sauce and ricotta cheese. Ever eaten a plate of salt? Well this pizza is that, the tomato sauce was extremely overpowered by salt that I was barely even able to eat it. I could still taste the tingle of salt just thinking about. Onto one of most common pizzas ‘Truffle’- this was honestly just another disappointment. The base of the pizza was burnt and I don’t mean the charred sort of burnt its supposed to be. I mean the kind my friend just kept looking at me with such disgust kind of burnt because all she could taste was burnt pizza.

Also, just to let you know don’t get the olives you will fling them to the side that’s if you will want to visit this place after my experience.
