Last Wednesday, Creative Access came to LSBU to speak about many of the opportunities there are in the creative and arts industries.
The speaker’s included Jonny Yapi (researcher and account executive, Shine) , Dorsa Nam(development assistant producer, ITV), Charmain Leung ( digital and user experience manager CONDE NAST Johansens) and Anoushka Dossa ( head of recruitment, Creative Access.)
The showcase began with a talk which explained what roles are available in the creative and arts industries. Each speaker then came forward to explain how they got into the industry and where they are now.
Each speaker also gave tips on how to succeed in the industry.
Charmain Leung said to “ try everything and anything”, whilst Johnny Yapi also said to “never be scared to ask” and that the more proactive you are, the more opportunities you get. Dorsa Nam said to “make connections and be friendly” is a key quality to have to succeed and prosper in the industry.
After the talk there was time to ask questions and talk to the guest speakers in more detail. I particularly enjoyed talking with Dorsa Nam, as she had great enthusiasm for the industry and was keen to hear where I wanted to go in the industry.
