When a Hollywood film is supposedly based on a true story, it is sometimes questioned how accurate it is.
For example, the movie Selma it has been proven that the accuracy is 100% however, The Imitation Game was to be only 42.3% accurate. This does strike a thought in people mind on how accurate Hollywood films are in general.
This is mainly because ‘The Imitation Game’ is based on iconic moment in which Alan Turing broke the enigma code in World War II and was gay.
This does give a sense of false advertising because of the fact the film posters and trailers state that it is based on a true story. As journalists tend to get sanctioned for making false reports or ‘fake news’. Maybe it is right for Film producers to be sanctioned also.
