2019 has been a very successful year for albums, especially for the artists I listen to. East Coast classics from Griselda, collectively and individually, Dave East dropped Survival, Port of Miami 2 hit the airwaves. Joe Blow and The Game held it on down for the West Coast. Before I start my Top Ten these projects are some of my favourites that didn’t make the final list.

My Album of the Year, An Ode to Machine Gun Black. Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine and Benny the Butcher. Telling tales of the come up from May Block and Montana in Buffalo to studio’s with Eminem. The trio made history with their debut shady release. Hard hitting lyrics like in “May Store” and single “Dr Birds”and my personal favourite “city on the map”. The features on this tape are also something to behold with appearances from 50 Cent, Eminem and Raekwon. But all in all the reason for this being my favourite mixtape is the rawness of Conway and Benny’s bars contrasted with Westside Gunn’s unique flow and expensive lyrics.

A female university has allegedly been raped by a London cab driver outside her flat in Peckham. 

On Saturday 26th of October between the hours of 2.15 am and 3am, Amy  a 20 year old student from Kings College London University, was allegedly raped by a cab driver in his cab outside her flat in Peckham.  

Printworks Nightclub

The unnamed driver collected Amy from Printworks venue in Rotherhithe around 1.45am. She left the club early being described as “bare drunk” by friend Annie who waited for her Uber with her. The uber which had been ordered had a similar number plate to the cab which she entered alone. 

When they arrived at the flat Amy knocked on her flat door as she didn’t have keys. Her flatmates were asleep and she repeatedly banged on the door attempting to wake them. The driver then invited her into the car as it was cold outside. She reluctantly went back into the cab. He then raped her in the car, penetrating her vagina before leaving her outside the flat in the cold.  

Amy reported the incident to the Police the following day, shortly after a private hire cab driver was arrested and released under investigation. As of yet there is not enough evidence to convict the suspect. The suspect has agreed to an ID parade, which will take place in the coming weeks. 

Scotland have kept their hopes of promotion alive after thrashing Albania 4-0. Two first half goals and a red card for Albania put Scotland firmly ahead in Shkoder, Northern Albania. Then two Forrest goals in the second half sealed the victory.

Scotland started the game aggressively swarming Albania’s backline, allowing Christie to win possession and set up Ryan Fraser. A headbutt from Mavraj the Albania captain led to a straight red card. Fletcher scored his first goal since 2016.  Forrest showed off his pace and skill with two superb individual goals in his only two shots.

The Scots are now joint top of Nations League Group C1 and will play Israel at Hampden Park on Tuesday. The winner will top the group and secure a playoff spot, McLeish will face a tough test after losing in the reverse fixture last month.
