A new symptom of covid-19 has been discovered by British researchers.

Recently, British scientists from University College London and the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital have identified a new symptom of Covid-19. The symptom was partial or, subsequently, complete hearing loss in patients. The study was conducted on the basis of the stasis of patients with covid who suffered from hearing loss, as well as the appearance of noise or ringing in the ears.

Sergey Cheremushkin, deputy Chief Physician for Therapy of a Covid Center in MoscowandChief Physician of the Central Directorate of Healthcare explained the appearance of a new symptom by the fact that covid-19 is capable of infecting various organs and blood vessels of a person. The doctor emphasized that the most common symptoms of coronavirus infection are still fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue and a feeling of chest congestion.

Sergey also mentioned a new fact: «Today we know that the coronavirus virus is introduced into the human body not only through the respiratory tract, but also through the gastrointestinal tract. We have made sure that one of the leading mechanisms of development of COVID-19 is the virus triggered through various mechanisms of inflammation, the severity of which determines the severity of the course of the disease».
