Protestors outside of The cabinet on Whitehall
Protestors outside of The cabinet on Whitehall

As the court case against the Prime Minister’s suspension of Parliament continue at the supreme court; outside of the Cabinet Office, a crowd has congregated, all shouting the same message, that Brexit will be bad news.

Carol Hedges, a protestor who protests within the group ‘Grandmas against Brexit’, spoke of her opinions about Brexit, and spoke about why she feels so passionately about staying in the EU. Before Carol spoke however, she turned her plaquard around, showing the less friendly side, which showed the comparisons between Boris Johnson and Adolf Hitler. Carol felt very strongly about the fact that, much like her grandparents, who were killed at Auchwitz, she believes that there is again a feeling that people are being classed as “the other”. Carol told us that they will protest every day, and they will be “here for as long as it takes”.

Although unable to secure a full interview with any of the employees entering or exiting the building, the rushed “cant speak” and “we have meetings”, coupled with the rushed pace of movement and stressed looks on their faces, made it clear that this is a massively important time for the Politics of this country, as we await the results of the court case at the end of the week.
