BREAKING NEWS London Prepare to move to tier 2 restrictions

As Coronavirus is about in the city, Boris Johnson the Prime Minister announces that London will move to tier 2 as the number of Covid 19 cases has raised. Moving the city tier to tier 2 means mixing between different households or social bubbles is banned indoors, including in homes, pubs and restaurants. Groups of up to six people will still be able to meet outdoors in public spaces and private gardens.

Sadiq Khan the mayor of London has also reported on this topic warning Londoners that they will face a difficult winter a head telling the London assembly that the decision was based on expert public health and scientific advice about what is necessary to save lives in the city. He also said that in addition to the restrictions that are already in place, that this would mean different households in London not being allowed to mix indoors, he said. Mr Khan also quoted “Nobody wants to see more restrictions, but this is deemed to be necessary in order to protect Londoners lives by myself, London council leaders and by ministers.”

On October 20 Mr Khan called for the 10pm curfew in the capital to be scrapped now the city is under Tier 2 coronavirus restrictions.

The mayor said allowing restaurants to remain open beyond 10pm would support businesses by allowing them to increase bookings even with indoor mixing of households banned.

Tory MP Nickie Aiken, who represents the Cities of London and Westminster has said “Whilst I appreciate the public health crisis we find ourselves in, I remain deeply concerned about the impact further lockdown will have on the capital’s hospitality, leisure and retail businesses.”
