Life in Isolation- Day 2

Sundays used to mean a ten hour shift in KFC, normally consisting of me moaning for at least eight of those hours that I didn’t want to be there, but man I would take a ten hour shift right now if it meant being able to leave the house.

I should point out at this point, that although yesterday I mentioned that I am not worried about anything just yet, my girlfriend was quick to point out that it took less than 24 hours for me to shave my head, for fear of not being able to get a haircut. Speaking of whom, she has been an absolute star, constanly checking up on me and facetiming me for some form of human interaction.

Today has been another one of those days that 15 year old me would have loved, I shall probably have to leave the xbox for a few hours to cool down, safe to say that today alone I have got my moneys worth for F1 2020. Even that hasn’t exactly made my brain work all that much, but it is a Sunday so I guess I can give myself a well earned break.

I have decided today to start tasting some different beers that my dad gave me for my birthday, so for the next seven days I will be reviewing different types of beers. Saying this, if anyone would like to send me some beers, or stronger alcohols, to review, please feel free to get in touch. (I am being deadly serious, I am a student, any and all alcohols are welcome here.)

The beer on the menu today is from the ‘Wiper and True’ brewery in Bristol, called the India Pale Ale Sundance. at 5.6% it is not the strongest of the beers I will be trialing this week, but it is still good enough. It describes itself as having flavours such as mango and pineapple, as well as berry and citrus flavours. I would argue that the mango and pineapple flavours are not very prominent, which personally isnt an issue as I don’t really like those fruits. Despite this it is still a refreshing beer

and is light, meaning it would accompany an evening meal nicely.

As this is the first beer in this review, it sits comfortably at the top of the table, but that position is a bit like Arsenal starting each premier league season at the top, it is almost certain to not remain there until the end. Overall the Sundance gets a 6/10, it would score higher however the description doesn’t match the taste.

And with that, I guess its time to go find another film to watch, I am still positive in my mindset, each day will be a challenge finding stuff to do, but I just have to take it one day at a time, and eventually this crazy scenario will be over. I still see myself as being lucky, some people have been shielding like this since the very start of the pandemic, I can’t imagine how much of a struggle it has been for those people.

If anyone has any reccomendations for beers to order in please get in touch, or if you have any ideas for questions I could answer to liven up the blog, please get in touch either through Facebook, twitter or email.

Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in the next one
