Chaabian Boyz Vol 1- Album Review

RAAMI

Number 15 on my top 15 albums of the year is Chaabian Boyz Vol 1 by Frenzo Harami. For those who understand his lyrics, laughter is a certainty. Whilst being an outspoken brazen individual on social media Frenzo really delved deeper into his thoughts and mind, expressing that life is not all rosy in “Problems”. With seasoned lyricist Shaker the Baker alongside him, this 11 track tape thoroughly exceeded my expectations. My favourite song on the tape has to be “Coke Slore” where Frenzo takes on the moniker of a pimp as he often does and raps about a female worker who he used to compensate with cocaine.

My Projects of the Year

2019 has been a very successful year for albums, especially for the artists I listen to. East Coast classics from Griselda, collectively and individually, Dave East dropped Survival, Port of Miami 2 hit the airwaves. Joe Blow and The Game held it on down for the West Coast. Before I start my Top Ten these projects are some of my favourites that didn’t make the final list.

Slim- Still Working
K Trap- No magic
Safone – Im rah Hard
Mowgs- Roll the Dice
Music x Road
Statue of Limitations

WWCD- Album Review

Griselda Records

My Album of the Year, An Ode to Machine Gun Black. Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine and Benny the Butcher. Telling tales of the come up from May Block and Montana in Buffalo to studio’s with Eminem. The trio made history with their debut shady release. Hard hitting lyrics like in “May Store” and single “Dr Birds”and my personal favourite “city on the map”. The features on this tape are also something to behold with appearances from 50 Cent, Eminem and Raekwon. But all in all the reason for this being my favourite mixtape is the rawness of Conway and Benny’s bars contrasted with Westside Gunn’s unique flow and expensive lyrics.
