Stewartby Rising

Stewartby, like many communities around us
is expanding massively. Starting with the ‘Hansons Reach’
new build development continuously bringing new families
to the charming countryside, there has been exemplary
modern progress for the village.

Incorporated on the 25th January 2016, Hansons Reach began
construction of a 640 home scheme divided into four phases.
In present time they are in the final phase with over 150
homes to go. The booming new estate has attracted many
younger families to the predominantly elderly community. A
cencus conducted in 2018 shows the increase in youth after
the 2011 census, five years after the beginning of
development. In 2011 there were 76 people aged 0-19
reportedly living in Stewartby, increasing to 399 in 2018.
March 2019 sprouted excitement for a new local co op food
store to be built in the centre of the new estate accompanied
by Stewartby’s very own Dominoes. With the dominoes still
awaiting an opening, Co op food has flourished in its first few
weeks of opening since September.

“With patience and a clear end goal for the community, Stewartby will become bigger, better, and bonifide” – Andrew Collins, Persimmon Homes Board Committee member.

From an isolated brickworks village, Stewartby has grown to become a family hotspot for living and recreation most popular for the Stewartby lake water-sports club. The planned demolition of the brickworks grounds will see the hearty introduction to even more homes to be built in the future, further expanding the village community, despite the sacrifice of the historical monument.
