Protesters gather in Leeds to campaign against Coronavirus measures.

‘Wake up Hull’, a group which claims COVID-19 is fake, gathered in Millennium Square in Leeds city centre this afternoon to rally against lockdowns

Placards and banners were held and displayed by mask-less supporters around the square as they cheered on the speakers, while booing at the mention of ‘evil doers’ who work in government and health departments such as Matt Hancock.

Some of the propaganda laid across one of the statues outside the building.

Dr Kevin Corbett, a health scientist and former registered nurse was among the speakers for the event.

“Coronavirus is a collection of everyday symptoms”, so “when everybody is in fear, they will do everything they (the government) order them to do”. “It is time for us to wake up.”

He also states the current diagnostic test in use “should not be used for this”, as he continues to claim that the Public Health Group are ill equipped with this test; “They had no isolated virus so they looked up on the internet in China to see if it looked like a SARS-CO virus; can you believe that?!”

One supporter, Neil told “I’ve been skeptical from the very beginning and had my job taken away from it, I’m sick of the scaremongering and the sheeps who live in fear.”

A woman passing by adds “It’s ridiculous, this is the reason we’re on tier two in the first place because of people like this” as she points at the crowd.

Police Liaison officers said the crowd gathered close to 200 people coming and going, attending to ensure there was no incitement from the speakers and the demo was safe and contained until the group disbanded later this afternoon.
