Prom dresses remain unworn due to COVID 19

Covid-19 restrictions cause havoc for Scott Parkins family of 5 who were rearing for their daughters prom.

The Upminster prom boutique refused to return the £600 dress, forcing Scotts partner to sell her daughters prom dress for half its price via Facebook.

After a £300 deposit had already been placed Scott tried to return his daughters prom dress, despite the circumstances the prom boutique Manager sent a letter stating Scott had 14 days to pay off the dress or else interest would apply.

Scott felt the shopkeeper was “earning money out of an unprecedented situation” as the shopkeeper threatened legal action. After a heated back and fourth Scotts family were forced to pay and are looking for a new home for their princess dress.

Prom is a day young girls and boys can dress up, sing and dance with their best friends and dream for the night to last forever.

“The beginning of a new chapter” Scott says.
