“They should’ve gone to the vet.”

The cat who died after taking over the counter Beaphar worming syrup has received huge outrage.

Cat owners are being warned.

Yoda, an East London cat, experienced multiple seizures. His body became too fragile and he died in care.

“I feel injustice towards the animals who cannot take care of themselves” Jane Malakhova says, fellow cat owner. “I think it’s worth submitting multiple manufacturing complaints or signing a petition to cancel the bulk sale of this product.”

This is not the first case of such misuse.

Karen Plant is an angry commenter on Yoda’s Facebook post. She had a rabbit who experienced multiple seizures and died “within 24 hours” of using over the counter pet treatment.

She says: “I felt for the baby. Other than my daughters, my pets are my world.” She has three dogs, three guinea pigs, two horses, one cat and one chameleon.

Lauretta Mauriello was also amongst the angry Facebook commenters.

“This happens quite often so why are they allowed to sell it”, she felt people buy these products “because it’s cheap, I am sure they don’t expect their pet to die from taking it.”

Employee at Vets4Pets was shocked to hear such devastating news.

She felt the owner should’ve “gone to the vet” for pet treatment in order “to know it is for the correct animal, used in the correct way.”
