Currently based in London, Aimee Gabay is a Journalism student at London Southbank University.
Her assigned patch is East Dulwich, a well-preserved Victorian suburb. At first glance, she noticed a vast array of nineteenth-century houses. Amongst them, she found shops and pubs dating back to the Victorian era still functioning with many of their original features still in use. The Crystal Palace Tavern, for example, still uses its original ale pumps and a lot of its furniture has gone unchanged for years. Follets Music Shop on 5 Lordship Lane, also remains largely the same as it did back in the early 1960s.
Despite reporting on the people and issues in East Dulwich, Aimee believes in the importance and relevance of writing about international and national news stories. In particular; human rights, animal rights and welfare, humanitarian work and environmental issues.
