Winter Wonderland – An expensive trip out: Review

Once again, the Winter Wonderland returns to London’s Hyde Park. Over the years the festive market, rides and food stalls have become an integral part of London at Christmas, but just as the events popularity and scale increases year on year, so do the prices.

Situated just a short walk from Oxford Street and accessible via Marble Arch Station, the central location of Winter Wonderland makes it easy to get to for everyone. The event is always very busy, with classic attractions such as rides and an ice-skating rink, and newer ones such as the ‘Backyard Cinema’.

Though free to enter, Winter Wonderland is anything but a cheap day out. Prices at the event are incredibly high for what’s on offer and may leave you with a bitter taste in your mouth.

Having said that, Christmas only comes around once a year, and the event oozes festive spirit. Millions of Christmas lights, and lots of trees and decorations (including enormous ice sculptures) will be sure to get you in the mood for the holiday season.

Winter Wonderland is open now and is open daily (excluding Christmas day) until the 6thJanuary.
