Police from Southwark CID have released the image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an attack that occurred earlier this year.
The non-fatal stabbing took place on Sunday, July 15 at 11:55pm, when the victim is thought to have left a nearby pub with a friend. The victim then briefly spoke to a female before exchanging numbers and heading to his car where he was then apprehended.
The 30-year-old was approached by the suspect who then asked for his identity. The suspect then opened the victim’s car door and proceeded to stab him in the left forearm. It is presumed that he was aiming for the chest. The victim managed to fight off his attacker but received another stab wound, this time smaller and to the chest, during the process.
Detective Constable Colin Scott of the Southwark CID has released a statement saying “we would like to identify the individual in this picture and speak to him about the attack that took place on Sunday 15th July. It is not known at this stage if he is the suspect or a significant witness, however it is very important that we speak to him as soon as possible.”
